What is this?

NWP Rockies is Rockies-basin gas on Northwest Pipeline — Wyoming and the Intermountain West, not Henry Hub at Erath. The ICE index tracks the Inside FERC “Northwest, Rocky Mountains” location price; the daily reference runs through Opal and Kern River. The basin often trades at a discount to Louisiana, depending on takeaway west and to the Pacific Northwest.

Rockies producers and merchants hedge basin gas, not the national benchmark. This is not the location spread (hub minus Henry Hub).

  • Rockies ≠ SoCal.
