What is this?

Mont Belvieu natural gasoline is a natural-gas liquid (pentanes and hexanes, C5+), not pump gasoline and not RBOB. The spot market calls it natural gasoline; EIA says pentanes plus. The NYMEX future cash-settles to the monthly OPIS Non-TET (ex-Texas Eastern) average at Mont Belvieu, the Texas fractionation hub. It is used as diluent for heavy Canadian crude, as a gasoline component, or to denature ethanol.

NGL producers, blenders and petrochemical plants hedge a fractionation stream, not a gallon of RBOB.
