What is this?

The Mass Hub is not a power plant: it is a basket of nodes in Massachusetts, New England’s lightly congested reference price (ISO-NE). The contract averages day-ahead prices in peak hours: Monday–Friday, excluding NERC holidays, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern. Gas often sets the price; in winter, heating crowds the pipelines; in summer, air-conditioning.

Utilities and merchants hedge New England peak here. This is not the off-peak block (nights, weekends and holidays).
