Exposure to a rise in US fuel ethanol — not RBOB and not corn.

What is this?

NYMEX ethanol is denatured fuel ethanol — made unfit to drink, ASTM D4806 grade, meant for gasoline blending. It is not RBOB, and not corn. In the United States it is mostly distilled from corn in the Corn Belt. At the terminal it is added to RBOB, around 10%, to make finished gasoline. The physical hub is Chicago: railcars from plants and tanks at Argo.

Ethanol producers and blenders hedge the fuel leg, between the cost of corn and the gasoline price.
